Hello everyone,

As we lead up to the end of term, it’s been another busy week in school!

Year 6 pupils completed their Bikeability course this week to learn how to be safe riding their bikes in the community. Year 5 pupils will do theirs next week.

On Tuesday Year 5 pupils attended the Rugby Festival at Maiden Castle.

On Thursday morning, Year 5 students also attended the Easter in a Box workshop at All Saints Church to learn about Christianity at Easter time.

Cool Sports came into school on Thursday to do a Mini Yoga taster session with our Nursery children

Our Reception classes went on a visit to Wharton Park today to attend a workshop called ‘The Trouble with Dragons’. We will get some photographs uploaded onto the website on Monday!

We raised a huge amount of £522.40 for Red Nose day, well done and thank you so much for your generosity and support.

Please remember this week is the last week for afterschool clubs this term and a new schedule for next term will be sent out via the Parent app at the end of next week.

Have a lovely weekend, just one week to go until we break up for Easter!

Hello everyone

It hasn’t been a great week with the weather conditions but we still managed for some of our planned events to go ahead!

On Tuesday Reception pupils attended the Sports Festival at Maiden Castle organised by the School’s Sports Partnership, the theme was ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ and all of the children had a really fun time.

On Thursday morning Year 1 attended Invasion Games at New College also organised by the School’s Sports Partnership, they all had a great time.  Unfortunately, the Year 2 session in the afternoon could not go ahead due to the school closing early, hopefully this will be rearranged shortly.

We will upload some photographs from both events early next week, in the meantime here are some snowy fun photographs.

Many thanks to you all for your support this week, much appreciated, hopefully Spring is on it’s way!

Year 6 groups experienced an Aim Higher Writing day this week. One group travelled to Esh Winning Primary School for a day led by poet Matt Abbott. The children were shown how to use lots of different writing prompts to help them come up with creative ideas. The children wrote poems based on the days of the week and the colour green as well as writing a letter to themselves from an object that they treasure.

The other group held a heated debate on whether the character in their current book ‘Boy, Everywhere’ should leave his home country or flee with his family. Later, they wrote and recorded news reports including eye-witness interviews.
