We have had a busy week this week after our return from the Easter break.

On Monday Year 4 visited Segedunum Roman Fort as part of their Roman Studies, photos of this trip can be viewed in the Year 4 gallery.

Author Adam Bushnell visited the school to provide writing workshops for Year 2 and Year 6.

I would like to wish everyone an enjoyable bank holiday weekend.

Today is that last day of term before we break up for the Easter Holidays.

This week there has been lots going on.

The student SNAG group had another productive meeting with Taylor Shaw, who provide the lunches here at school.

Our Dance Club have been working very hard all term creating a routine to go with the sea shanty “Wellerman.”  Yesterday they had the opportunity to perform this dance at the Durham Gala Theatre as part of the School Sports Partnership Dance Festival.  We hope to be able to share the video with you all shortly.

Today children are busy decorating Easter eggs for our boiled egg competition.  There are some fabulous ideas! Pictures can be found in the Enrichment and Enjoyment section of the website, under the Parents tab.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful and relaxing break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on April 25th”

Reminder – school is closed for a training day on Friday 29th April.

Today we are participating in Red Nose Day – all the children have arrived dressed as their favourite superheroes.

Once again there has been a lot going on at school this week.

We have had the author Adam Bushnell in school this week.  He has been delivering writing and story-telling workshops to all our classes, from the Nursery right through to Year 6.

Our SNAG Group (School Nutrition Action Group, comprised of our students) met with staff from Taylor Shaw to discuss menu choices.

Year 6 have been continuing to take part in the football league, which they are enjoying immensely.

Here are photos of our two Reception Classes in their superhero costumes.

It has been lovely to welcome everyone back after the half term break.

Yesterday we all enjoyed celebrating World Book Day. The children brought in texts that were important to them to share with others.  They enjoyed taking part in reading activities as well as sharing stories with children from other classes.

Today we are supporting the charity Little Hearts Matter: we are raising money for their Big-Hearted Friday by wearing half school uniform and half everyday clothes.  Thank you for all your generous donations.

To mark E-Safety week, in assembly today, the children performed a song, “Behind the Screen”, which we will be uploading to the website shortly for you all to watch.
