Our Year 5 and 6 students regularly work as a team to clear areas around school, recycling and reusing found materials where possible. Recently, we used natural findings and old car tyres to create bug hotels to attract as many wonderful creatures as possible!
The Eco-Committee have decided that as a school, we need to use our outdoor spaces more often. So, in preparation, the team cleared the garden (weeding and sorting) ready for children of all classes to access and use this space for leisure and learning.
At the beginning of our Eco-Journey, representatives from Durham County Council and Energy Heroes, visited and spoke to the whole school about ways in which we could be more eco-friendly. Following the assembly, the Eco-Committee met with the reps and conducted a survey around the school.
