Butterflies and Caterpillars

There are 2 Nurseries available at Framwellgate Moor Primary School: The Butterflies and The Caterpillars.  FFE places are provided in both Nurseries, therefore fruit and milk will be provided in both Nurseries.  The placement of children is reviewed each term in order to increase the capacity of FFE places each term.

Butterflies

The Butterflies Nursery offers 15 or 30* hours per week childcare for 3 year old children who will be going to Reception the following September.

Pupils are offered the following:

15 hours Nursery

5 x am (8.30am—11.30am), 5 x pm (12.30pm-3.30pm), 2 1/2 days beginning of week (all day Mon/Tue and Wed am) or 2 1/2 days end of week (Wed pm and all day Thur, Fri).

In addition to the 15 hours free provision, Regular Wrap Around Care sessions can be booked in the Butterflies Nursery.

30 hours Nursery

Parents are able to choose any combination of the following sessions to equal 30 hours:

  • 7.30am-8.30am – 1 hour
  • 8.30am-2.30pm – 6 hours
  • 2.30pm-3.30pm – 1 hour

*Parents are now able to check their eligibility for 30 hours Nursery online on the Childcare Choices website www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.

Caterpillars

The Caterpillars Nursery offers 2 year old, Rising 3 and 3 year old places from the term following a child’s 2nd or 3rd birthday.

2 Year old and Rising 3 Nursery

All children can access the Nursery for the term after they become 2.

This can be paid for by Parents or in some cases can be free to families in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
  • Income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Universal Credit – income below £15,400 after tax
  • Tax Credits—income below £16,190 before tax
  • Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit
  • Support through part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act
  • The Working Tax Credit 4-week run on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

Your child will also qualify if they:

  • Are looked after by the council
  • Have a current Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan (child)
  • They get disability Living Allowance
  • Have left care through special guardianship order, child arrangements order or an adoption order

3 Year old Nursery

The Caterpillars Nursery offers 15 or 30* hours per week childcare for 3 year old children who are eligible for 4 or 5 terms of Nursery provision (children born between September and March).

Pupils are offered the following:

5 x am (8.30am—11.30am), 5 x pm (12.30pm-3.30pm), 2 1/2 days beginning of week (all day Mon/Tue and Wed am) or 2 1/2 days end of week (Wed pm and all day Thur, Fri).
