Year 3 & 4 Visit from Author Adam Bushnell
We had the pleasure of a visit from Adam Bushnell in school this week. Adam is an author of books for children and adults, he has written over fifty books and visits schools to teach writing skills to children. He has been visiting our school for around 16 years.
Year 3 & 4 explored Roman weapons and armour then wrote detailed character descriptions.
Maths Day Challenge
All Year 3’s and 4’s took part in a Maths Problem Solving Day in school this week. The children thoroughly enjoyed completing the challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Working together as a team, they were able to use and apply their Mathematical skills to solve a range of problems. We also had lots of fun along the way too!!
Year 3 & 4 Professor Nitrate Workshop
Year 3 and 4 really enjoyed their workshop with Professor Nitrate today. They were able to take part in a range of experiments covering gravity, force, pressure and chemical reactions. What a wonderful experience it was for the children, they couldn’t stop smiling.
Pandas World Book Day
Pandas had a fantastic World Book Day. They dressed up as their favourite characters and enjoyed a poetry workshop.
Tigers Music lesson
Tigers class have been learning to play the recorder this half term with Mr Crinson from Durham Music Service. They can play the notes B, A and G confidently and have enjoyed copying back and composing their own rhythms.
In our last lesson, children were given the opportunity to try out a range of woodwind instruments .It was a lot of fun!

The School’s Sports Partnership were in school today to do an Archery session with Year 3 & 4.

Year 3/4 Christmas Fun Run
Pandas Class – recorder
Pandas class have enjoyed learning to play the recorder this half term with Mr Crinson from Durham Music Service. They know how to play simple tunes using the notes B,A and G. Everyone has improved and some children even composed and performed their own melodies.
