Retirement
We would like to thank Dennis Parsons for being a fantastic caretaker at FMPS for the last 8.5years.
We would like to thank him from the bottom of our hearts for all of the hard work, friendship and great sense of humour that he has shared with us.
We wish Dennis all of the very best for his retirement and hope that he has the opportunity to relax and spend time with his family.
Thank you Dennis!
Getting Married
Congratulations to Miss Storey who is getting married in the Easter holidays.
We hope that Miss Storey has a fabulous day and honey moon.
We look forward to her returning to school as Mrs French.
On Wednesday D.T we have continued our work on structures. We have explored all of the safety procedures needed when working with wood and tools. Then we had a go at marking, measuring, using bench hooks and saws to cut our wood at 10cm intervals. We were extremely sensible and careful when using the tools and wood and are looking forward to sticking the wooden together and creating a wooden truss bridge.

On Wednesday Pasta session with Chartwells learning all about making pasta. We rolled the dough and cut it into shapes, we stuffed it with cheese and made a pasta called tortellini. We learnt about carbohydrates and how important they are for us because they give us energy.

Year 6 began building their Truss bridges out of wood. The class measured, sawed and sanded pieces of wood before gluing them together to form, the first part of their structure.
This week KS1 made their very own bread with Chartwells. The children had so much fun and created their very own shape! Yum!

Year 6 this week Art installation we continued our art topic by taking our boxes outside to create an explosion effect similar to artists we had discussed and looked at. The children threw powder paint, glitter and paint to create their own installations.
Frisbee Year 6 had a great morning with Darren from SSP. The children were shown how to throw the frisbee properly and enjoyed a competition to see who could score the most points.
Year 5 have enjoyed learning how to use a protractor. We did this by drawing angles onto the tables and carefully measuring each other’s, we understand the importance of accuracy when measuring angles.

Grasshopper's had an amazing time at Tynemouth Aquarium where they got to see some interesting sea life. They enjoyed watching the wonderful coloured fish and scary sharks swim all around them in the water tunnel as well as exploring in the rock pool encounter where they got to touch a starfish. The seals kept us all entertained at their show, splashing and waving at us. One favourite part was watching and feeding the River Giants from the Amazonian River, we could not believe the size of them.
