School Brochure

Welcome to Framwellgate Moor Primary School and thank you for choosing our school. We
know that both you and your child will be very happy with us. Our staff work incredibly hard
to ensure your child’s potential is fulfilled and are eager to develop partnerships with you for
your child’s education.

Rationale

At FMPS our school motto is ‘Forever Making Pupils Shine’ and this statement pervades all areas
of school life and the curriculum. We aim to inspire pupils and instil a love of learning that will
last a lifetime. Children will develop skills and knowledge to support them in all areas of their
life and build upon these solid foundations and maximise their potential.

So what do we want for our Learners?

The curriculum is designed to: recognise children’s prior learning, provide first-hand relevant
learning experiences, allow the children to develop a wide range of learning skills and depth of
knowledge, build confidence, independence, resilience and become creative, critical thinkers.
Every child is recognised as a unique individual. We celebrate and welcome differences within
our diverse school community. The ability to learn is underpinned by the teaching of skills,
knowledge, concepts and values with a vision for all to ‘Let pupils shine’. We constantly provide
enrichment opportunities to engage learning. We believe that childhood should be a happy, investigative and enquiring time in our lives, where there are no limits to curiosity and there is an
enthusiasm for new experiences and knowledge. We use our school core values
(Fair, Resilient, Ambitious, Mindful, Welcoming, Empathic, Loyal, Listeners, Generous, Active &
Healthy, Tolerant, Equal) to promote positive attitudes to learning together, encouraging all to
be respectful of themselves and others as well as being active citizens both locally and globally.

We look forward to a long and happy journey with you.
