Children’s Mental Health Week
As part of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week, with the theme 'This Is My Place', Tigers have been exploring what belonging means, where we feel we belong and the things that help us feel we belong. We sang songs about kindness, played interactive games and created some fantastic personal belonging maps. As a call to action, everyone has chosen one thing to try, such as saying hello to someone they don’t usually speak to or inviting someone to join a group, to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging in school.
tigers class - big debate
Our young debaters in Tigers Class went head-to-head in a lively discussion about the best city in the North East – Durham vs Sunderland. We were thoroughly impressed by their persuasive arguments, backed by the facts and evidence they gathered during their fact-finding mission homework. It was a brilliant showcase of research, critical thinking and public speaking!

Y6 Walk n Talk with Alex Dewar, Friday 15th September
Alex Dewar came to start off our Walk n Talk sessions. Alex came to talk about his time in the army, his injury and his time competing in the Invictus games. After this, he took the children for some team building games where the children had to communicate with each other well to complete them. Darren from SSP will continue to take them for Walk n Talk sessions for the rest of the term.
